Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of females in the late 1970s. Their punkish music and provocative lyrics helped them get not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The band was never able to the band to be popular in America, however, they enjoyed a great deal of popularity in other countries and in particular Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in heavy metal. She began voice lessons, and then released her debut solo album , 'Out for Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford did not achieve any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for about 10 years. The smash hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. However, the popularity of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she went under the radar. Her re-emergence was with the release of "Black" from 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years after. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule".
